Manzoor Pashteen of Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) arrested from Peshawar’s Shaheen Town during the early hours of Monday morning, police sources said.
Quoting an official of Tahkal police station, the report said, “the PTM chief is being shifted to Dera Ismail Khan where an FIR has been registered against him.”
Mohsin Dawar, senior PTM leader and MNA, also confirmed the development saying, “Last night Manzoor Pashteen was arrested in Tehkaal.”
Police said a case had been registered against the PTM leader in Dera Ismail Khan and he will be shifted to DI Khan, however for now he is in the lockup of Tehkal Police station.
Last night Manzoor Pashteen was arrested in Tehkaal, Peshawar. This is our punishment for demanding our rights in a peaceful & democratic manner. But Manzoor's arrest will only strengthen our resolve. We demand the immediate release of Manzoor Pashteen.#ReleaseManzoorPashteen

It is my request to PTM workers & supporters to remain calm in response to Manzoor's arrest. We will devise a strategy after consultations. We are up against those who are most troubled by demands for constitutional rights, & we will continue doing that. #ReleaseManzoorPashteen
