Promotion of education in backward areas stressed

SHANGLA: Speakers at an event urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to pave ways for the promotion of education in the backward parts of the province as Bisham tehsil has been lacking educational institution.
Speakers, particularly educationists stressed on the government to enact a special policy for the areas where lands shortage is hindrance in execution of new educational institutions, schools, colleges.
At the annual prize distribution ceremony of a private school at Bisham, on Saturday, educationists, parents, members of civil society and students were present, while Pakistan Tehrik-I-Insaf divisional senior vice president, Sadeed ur Rehman was the chief guest.
Addressing at the annual prize distribution of English Grammar School, Bisham, Shahid Ahmed, a senior teacher, said that Shangla was remained backward, particularly the Bisham tehsil where the number of both girls and boys schools was insufficient.
“In most cases I noticed that schools, colleges schemes shifted to other areas due to shortage of lands and people refuse to donate their lands for educational institutions. If government devise a policy for buying lands for school in such areas than there will be no issue of shifting institutions to other areas,” Mr Ahmed said.
Nasir Khan, another senior senior teacher, said the education was key of success and the area inhabitants needed quality education for which private educational institutions should play a due role.
He said, Bisham tehsil is among the lowest literacy rate list of girls education in which main reason was lack of schools and inaccessibility to schools.
The PTI’s divisional leader Mr Sadeed Ur Rehman, said government was intended to build more schools and colleges in the district and included several schemes in upcoming tenders.
Students on the occasion presented different comedies, national anthems, speeches and also showcased their drawings and got appreciation from the audience also cash awards.
The position holders were also awarded with trophies and cash prizes on the occasion.
