The Bisham assistant commissioner, tehsil magistrate, Muhammad Jawad Asif on Wednesday sent 34 poultry dealers to jail from different parts of the tehsil Bisham for violating the chicken selling rules despite repeated notices.
The Bisham assistant commissioner, Muhammad Jawad Asif conducted raids in the entire tehsil after sending his staff for verification regarding sell of poultry at the shops and arrested 34 poultry dealers from the whole tehsil.
The AC Bisham conducted raids in Bisham city, Shang, Maira, Dandai, Batkot and other areas of the tehsil and booked 34 poultry dealers and sent them to jail.
Followed by action against the poultry dealers, the AC Bisham told journalists that he took this action on the special directives of the deputy commissioner, Shangla and public complaints as most of the poultry dealers had been selling the chicken per quantity instead by weight measurement.
He said that the local inhabitants had lodged complaints several times and he had fined the poultry dealers, while warning notices were issued by several times but they were reluctant to obey the government orders and continued to sell the chicken per piece.
AC Bisham said he had to ensure provision of relief to masses to which was his obligation and cannot let the traders to looting poor masses in such inflation era.
He said the poultry dealers would have to ensure selling the poultry through weight of per kilogram as practices across the country otherwise strict legal action would be taken against them.
The AC Bisham has sent 34 poultry dealers to prison in Bisham after registration of FIRs against them and all of them would be produced before him today on Thursday.
