Petrol shortage hits Shangla and adjoining areas

SHANGLA: Petrol shortage has hit the district hard as most filling stations have been closed and long queues of motorists are seen outside the stations waiting for petrol.

Local people and public transporters told reporters that they were troubled owing to shortage of petrol. They said that they were stuck in Bisham for the last two days.

Sohrab Khan, a local resident, had to go to Abottabad in connection with the medical checkup of his cousin failed to get petrol at any fuel station in Bisham.

“I want to fill my car tank. I have been waiting since morning at the filling station but the petrol stations owners have closed the stations,” Farhan Khan, a driver, said.

Ashfaq Ahmed, a driver on way to Kohistan, said that due to petrol shortage he had faced severe problems and searched all the filling stations but could not find petrol to fill car’s tank and go to Kohistan.
The transporters, cab drivers and local people demanded of the government to make sure availability of petrol at filling stations and end the artificial shortage of petrol.
