Over 600 children deprives of education in Shangla

SHANGLA: Local elders of Shawi Shang area of Bisham tehsil have demanded of the government to establish a primary school in the area where over 600 children under the age of 5 to 15 are out of schools due to absence of school.
They said, despite the donation of land for the school the government failed to build a school in the area due to which the Shawi’s children deprived of the fundamental right of education.
Ahmed Khan, an elder, said that 3 boys enrolled in distant schools have died after hitting by speedy vehicles during last 7 years because of the absence of school.
He claimed there is the only man with matriculation while the rest of over 25000 population village council is illiterate and that is the reason the absence of school in the area.
Bahadar Khan, an elder, said just of some of the boys enrolled in the private schools of distant areas along the Karakoram Highway Batkot, Shang and Bisham regularly early in the morning go to their schools by an hour walking down and took two hours in return.
He said, non of girl of the area going to school due to the absence of school and lack of communication facilities.
Aziz Ur Rehman, said he had taught the local children for three years but his school was not registered which led to closure of the private school and he was unable to teach the students a lonely teacher.
He said, they have donated a two Kanal land for the construction of school as elected people of the different parties in different tenures promised with them a school but still in vain.
The locals demanded of the government particularly the minister information Shaukat Yousafzai who belonged to Bisham, to build a school for their children have been deprived of the basic right for long, so that their children also get education.
Meanwhile, Minister Information Shaukat Yousafzai, said that Nadra chairman assured him that Nadra center at Olandar Shangla will be reopen again which was closed a week ago.
He told media persons here on Monday that on the demand of local people he met the Nadra chairman and requested him to reopen the Nadra center for the facility of local people and he assured him.
