Man strangles fiancée to death in Shangla

SHANGLA: A man in Khadang area of Shangla confessed on Saturday strangulating to death his fiancee on August 16 night by fulfilling a promise he had made with another girl to whom he wanted to get married with.

The Chakesar police station, Station House Officer, SHO, Fazal Elahi told The Northern Post on Saturday that on August 17 he was informed by the local people about the incident and as he rushed the spot along with the police party he found the young girl dead body lying some 500 meters away from the house.

“Initially when I observed her neck there were marks of fingers and I came to know that she is probably strangulated at night. Then we shifted the dead body to Rural Health Center Chakisar for conducting her autopsy where it revealed that she was murdered by strangulating,” He said.

SHO said the had recorded the statement of the deceased brother Aziz Ur Rehman who stated that her sister was got engaged to Sanaullah four years ago and their weeding ceremony was scheduled next month.

He said after registration of FIR he started investigation into the case following the statements and collected evidences from the scene and also both the deceased and accused mobile phone calls record he arrested the accused from Mansehra where worked in a bread baking shop Tandoor.

SHO further said that after his arrest he recorded the alleged murder statement in which he had confessed strangulating his fiancee.

“I was not willing to get married with my fiancee and wanted to knot the tie with another girl for whom I called my fiancee to meet me on the night initially she refused to meet me but I told if she didn’t meet he would divorce her then she agreed for the meeting,” the accused told police.

The accused further stated to police that he strangulated at that night and take the mobile he gave her and fled to Mansehra at the same night.

SHO said following the accused confession he registered a case under section 302 of Pakistan Penal Code and started further interrogation.
