Man sentenced to life imprisonment for woman murder

SHANGLA: District session judge, Shangla sentenced a man to life imprisonment along with Rs 500,000 fine in a woman murder case, lodged at police station Alpuri in November, 2021.

A statement issued by the Shangla police investigation wing on Thursday said that district session Judge, Shangla, Nasrullah Khan on Wednesday sentenced an accused Khaista Khan to life imprisonment and fined Rs 500,000 who was facing trials for a 302 murder 15AA PPC.

The case investigation officer, inspector Rohul Amin, however told The Northern Post that the accused had killed his daughter-in law in 2021 and the FIR was lodged in the police station Alpuri under section 302 for murder and 15AA for keeping unlicensed weapon, he had used in the crime.

He said the slain woman’s brother Anwar Ali was complainant in the case and the man had two wives and the slain woman was the second one he tied knot with on his choice.

“During the investigation we came to know that the accused character was not good and used to ask his daughter-in-laws for sexual relation but the slain woman always refused and the accused shot her with his gun,” Rohul Amin, investigation officer said.

He said after rounds of trials, producing evidences and testimonials the Shangla session judge, Nasrullah Khan convicted the accused awarding him life imprisonment and Rs 500,000 fine and 3 years imprisonment and 30,000 fine for keeping unlicensed weapon.

It was second verdict in this week accused sentenced to life imprisonment case, last week Shangla local court sentenced a man to life imprisonment with a fine of Rs 600,000 who had stabbed a man to death in 2022.

According to police after over two years of trials and producing evidences and relevant material in a murder case an accused Irfan Khan, resident of Martung had been convicted by the additional sessions judge Shangla and awarded him life imprisonment with Rs 600, 000 fine.

Police statement said that a man was stabbed to death by the accused and the FIR number 123 was lodged at the police station, Martung on 12, June, 2022 under sections 302 and 15-AA of Pakistan Penal Code.
