Karakoram Highway opens for traffic after blockade for a day

The Karakoram Highway was blocked in several points after huge rubles brought by the flooding water in the streams and small rivers in Battagram, Shangla, Kohistan areas on Friday early morning, however the road was cleared for one way traffic in the evening by the National Highway Authority.
The National Highway Authority’s deputy director for Shangla and Kohistan region, Ghulam Abbas Khan said the international route was blocked in multiple locations in Bisham and Kohistan, however it was cleared for traffic and traffic passed them smoothly.
He said the rubles brought by the heavy rain triggered floods in the streams in many places and the rubles would be removed from the road soon.
The heavy mud slides were brought by the flooding water in Janrai Shang,Shang, Seror, Police station area and that took more time in removing the rubles from them.
