International Rabies Day observed in Shangla

The International Rabies day observed in Shangla district and the dogs owners guided on how to keep their dogs healthy and protected from rabies.

The international Rabies day ceremony was organised by the Shangla livestock department at Chakesar on Tuesday which was attended by the dog owners and general public. Dr. Shaukat Hayat while addressing at the event highlighted the importance of the day and role of Livestock Deptt KP in combatting the evil of rabies was the first and only global day of action and awareness dedicated to rabies prevention.

He said It was an opportunity to united and sensitized the community and pets owners, civil society, and governments to connect and share their work.

Upon the directives of the Director Livestock Dr. Alamzeb, Dr. Haider Hayat, briefed the participants on the importance of dogs and cats vaccination.

Assistant Commissioner, Chakesar Mr. Ihsanullah was the chief guest on the occasion who also spoke to the ceremony and urged the public to keep their pets prevented from the rabies.

An awareness walk was also carried out in the Chakesar bazaar which School teachers, SDEO Chakesar, dog owners and general public participated, also on the occasion free vaccination services were provided to the dogs and cats.
