House gutted, 14 cattle heads perished in Shangla

A triple storey wooden built house gutted and 14 cattle heads perished after fire broke out in one of the rooms of the house at Kass Pagorai area of Alpuri on Thursday.

A triple storey wooden built house gutted and 14 cattle heads perished after fire broke out in one of the rooms of the house at Kass Pagorai area of Alpuri on Thursday.

According to a local the fire was erupted due to electric short circuit which engulfed the entire house immediately, including the cattle pen killing 14 buffaloes, cows and goats.

He said the house owner, Kareem Elahi who was a coalminer and worked in different parts of the country’s mines and built his home in the village but that reduced to ashes very quickly.

According to the local they put hectic efforts to extinguish the fire but owing the locality and hard terrains, the Rescue 1122 team could not reach the area timely and the fire had destroyed the house till that.

The affected person, Kareem Elahi told journalists that he was a poor man and his whole life’s earning just gone in minutes and his children got roofless in this blood-freezing cold weather of Pagorai.

He said 14 cattle heads were perished in the fire and everything in the house reduced to ashes as a result of blaze.

Mr Kareem Elahi appealed the district administration and provincial disaster management and philanthropists to support him financially to rebuild his house for his children.
