Brother kills sister for honour in Shangla

A 17 year old girl was killed by her elder brother over alleged illicit relations at Khunanu Shikawlai area in the limits of Chawga police station here on Friday.

The station house officer at Chawga police station, Amjad Alam told The Northern Post a man reported to police station that his daughter was killed by his son with a pistol and fled the scene.

SHO said after registration of FIR under sections 302 on the complaint, the Chawga police arrested the accused Ibrahim and during initial interrogation the accused confessed the crime.
The police official said the accused stated in his initial statement that he had killed his sister for honour because despite his several times attempt to forbid her from meeting a man and keeping illicit relations but she was not bothering for which he killed her with a pistol.

The police also recovered the weapon used in the crime and begun further interrogation in the case.

Meanwhile, the Bisham police station’s police apprehended a group of fraudents who had sold fake jewelry to a person and took Rs 2,38000 from him in Bisham bazaar on Friday.

A statement issued by the Shangla district police officer, Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada on Friday said that a group of fraudents were arrested at Dandai check post by Bisham police after they received a complaint from a citizen.

It said a four member group had sold fake jewelry to a citizen Muhammad Aleem, resident of Lahore, Bisham who complained to police and they informed the border check post where police apprehended the group.

Police statement said the group was selling fake jewelry by visiting shops and people roaming in the bazaar.

Police identified the accused Fida Khan, Rawalpindi, Shams-Ur-Rehman of Bahristan, Peshawar, Muhammad Arshad of CharKhana Peshawar and Pervaiz Iqbal of Rawalpindi.

The police statement said they also recovered 2,38000 of the complainant and 2,74000 other and five fake necklaces pretended to be gold, 2 wrist watches, 4 mobile phones and a car used in the crime.

Police said the FIR had been lodged against the fraudent group under section 419, 420, 468 and 471 of Pakistan penal code and begun further interrogation.
