Heavy snowfall, Ajmeer road blocked on third day

SHANGLA: The local people of Ajmeer and PirKhana have demanded of the district administration to reopen the road leads to Ajmeer valley which remained blocked for third day due to heavy snowfall received consecutively during last two days in the district causing troubled the locals, however Bisham-Swat and Alpuri-Puran were cleared by the administration.
The local people Ajmeer, Pir Khana, Ganshal and other areas told reporters here on Sunday that road leading to their area was suspended on Thursday and remained blocked for third day on Sunday after heavy snow had fallen on it.
Sayed Haider Ali said that about two feet of snow was received in the area during the two days snowfall which blocked the road forcing local people to walk on foot in the severe cold reaching their destinations.
He said the local people were compelled to shift ill people in bed to far away hospitals and also carried food stuff on their shoulders due to closure of road.
Rifqat Khan, another local said during snowy season they often face severe hardships, particularly due to closure of Shahpur Ajmeer road.
He said the district administration should ensure the road clear for all sorts for traffic, so that not only locals but tourists would also visit the tourists spot for witnessing the snowfall.
