General Bus Stand opens in Bisham Shangla

SHANGLA: Tehsil Municipal Administration Bisham has opened a general bus stand near Jinnah Park Bisham for all types of public transporters stands including rent car services here on Wednesday.
An inauguration ceremony was held in this regard at the general bus stand Bisham where Assistant Commissioner Bisham Anwar Ali, Tehsil Municipal Officer Sardar Saqib Hussain, Enforcement officer Ghayoor Khan, local elders, transport unions office bearers from Swat and Shangla present on the occasion.
Ghaioor Khan, said that there were several private and illegal bus and motor cars stand in the middle of the Karakoram Highway which had been caused traffic jam and creating difficulties for pedestrians when they were collecting passengers from the KKH by turning rounds.
He said Bisham TMA had decided to establish a proper and legal general bus stand in the city as Bisham is a center of five districts and Northern parts of Pakistan.
“We have scheduled fare according to the government fixed rates and We are making efforts to regulate the local general public transport which could benefit both the public and transporters as well as TMA generate revenue for its operation in the area,” Said, TMO Sardar Saqib Hussain.
He said, all kinds of facilities including washrooms, waiting rooms for both male and female, electricity and different offices have been established in the TMA general bus stand.
The TMO said that bylaws formed for the TMA general bus stand and the transporters would follow the regional transport authority rules for the general public interest especially all passengers will get a receipt when booked seat.
Amanullah Khan, the bus stand owner, said that the bus stand constructed on over 17 canal land and for the first time travel services will be started for Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisal Abad, Quetta, and Hyderabad.
He said, including for rent A car services arraignments have been made for all routes transporters services, Kohistan, Swat, Mansehra, Abbottabad and other main cities.
Bakht Zeeb, incharge traffic police Shangla, said that a general bus stand was essential for maintaining smooth traffic flow on the Karakoram Highway because the private services at every street were hampering the traffic and business activities in the city.
Local elders of the Bisham and suburbs thanked the TMA Bisham for the establishment of the first-ever general bus stand in the area for the convenience of the public.
