Five killed in separate road accidents in Shangla

SHANGLA: Five people, including two children, were killed and five others injured in separate road accidents in parts of Shangla on Wednesday.

The police said a car heading to Swat from Bisham tehsil fell into the Khan Khwar River, killing two people on the spot. Another man died while being taken to a hospital. Three people were also injured in the accident.

Local people pulled out the bodies and the injured and shifted them to rural health centre, Karora.

The injured were later referred to a hospital in Swat.
The police named the deceased as Aurangzeb of Lahore, Rozi Khan of Lakki Marwat, and an unknown man hailing from Battagram.

Police have also lodged an FIR.

Meanwhile, a nine-year-old boy was killed and two others were injured when a jeep fell into a gorge near a tourist spot in Qlandar area.

The jeep was carrying a family to the tourist spot for an Iftar party. The deceased was named Arbaz Khan.

Police said the family hailed from Larai area of Shangla.

The injured and the body were brought to the basic health unit, Olandar.

Meanwhile, an eight-year-old boy died after being hit by a speeding car at Koza Alpuri on Wednesday.

Police said the boy was crossing the road. He died while being shifted to the district headquarters hospital, Alpuri.
