Female teachers inclusion sought in interviews of female candidates

SHANGLA: The civil society members on Monday demanded of the education department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to involve female staff in conducting interviews of female candidates for teaching posts.
The civil society members of Shangla district raised the issue after the female education department formed a panel for the interviews which was comprising on male staffer of the department including the department head Zubaida Khatak.
Ali Bhash Khan, Ali Rehmat, Jamshid Ali shah and others said that posts of the different teaching cadres were advertised by female education department, in which qualified candidates have been called for the interviews on different dates from February 10-17 and a 12 members committee also formed for the interview panel.
They said, the committee was almost comprising on male staffer of the department and they did not include any senior female teacher nor female SDO in the panel and kept the interviews limited to their office management.
They demanded of the education department high ups to take action of the issue and ensure female teaching staff participation in the interviews so that they could conduct the female candidates interviews in peace of mind.
The Northern Post contacted DEO Zubaida Khatak for version, she told this scribe that female SDOs would be included in the panel for interviews.
