Police have arrested three individuals, including a father, for their alleged involvement in the murder of a young woman in Battagram.
The incident occurred six days ago, prompting the police to spring into action immediately after registering the First Information Report (FIR). A special team was formed by SP Investigation to uncover the facts and apprehend those involved in the heinous crime.
According to Ayaz, the investigation led to the arrest of the victim’s father, Raj Wali, and his two nephews, Mustafa and Mumraiz. During initial interrogation, all three suspects confessed to the crime, revealing a shocking tale of greed, betrayal, and brutality.
Mehar Nisa, the victim, had settled into her routine at her mother’s house. After finishing her evening chores, including milking the cattle, she retired to her room for the night. Unbeknownst to her, her relatives Mustafa and Mumraiz were hiding in the room, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
In a shocking turn of events, Mustafa pulled out a pistol and opened fire, tragically taking Mehar Nisa’s life. District Police Officer Muhammad Ayaz recounted the heartbreaking events, revealing that Mehar Nisa’s two young daughters, aged less than five years, were also in the room that fateful night.
The next morning, the girls woke up to find their mother’s lifeless body and alerted the neighbors, saying, “Mom is bleeding from the mouth, and she didn’t make breakfast for us yet.” The scene was nothing short of devastating, leaving the community in shock and grief.
The police revealed that the victim, Mehar Nisa, was shot dead by Mustafa using a pistol. The motive behind the murder was an 80-kanal land worth millions of rupees, which the victim owned. According to the police, the victim’s father and his nephews had been eyeing the valuable land and had conspired to eliminate Mehar Nisa to gain control over the property.
The police investigation also revealed that the victim had been living with her father for the past year, after her husband had abandoned her. However, the victim’s father had initially tried to mislead the police by blaming his son-in-law, Mumtaz, for the murder. He had even filed a case against Mumtaz, who is in police custody, alleging that he was responsible for his daughter’s murder.
