LPG Gas price hike; Per cylinder rates break all its previous records

SHANGLA: A major ever spike has been seen in the liquefied petroleum gas price, per 15Kg cylinder price is increased from Rs 1300 to Rs 2750 during the last two months, putting the consumers into further financial stress.
Shangla district is among the districts where the Sui southern natural gas facility is not available and people both commercial and domestic consumers rely on the LPG which is widely used in northern parts of the country.
The LPG agencies dealers in Shangla told The Northern Post that the LPG per kilogram increased five times during the last two months from Rs 1300 to 2750 which had also badly affected their businesses.

Sayed Umar Shah, said he used to buy the LPG at Rs 110 per KG but on Saturday he filled his domestic cylinder of 4KG at Rs 800 and first time he saw the LPG was being sold at Rs 200 per KG in Shangla.
Ashfaq Ahmed, told that he had bought the LPG cylinder two days ago at Rs 2600 in Bisham which he used to buy at Rs 1200-1500 in summer season.
“Increasing the LPG prices in summer is beyond my understanding and it is putting us into financial destruction as grocery prices are also increased by this government,” He said.
According to the Ogra recent notification issued on July 31, the LPG final price was notified as Rs 169.66 and 11.8KG domestic cylinder at Rs 2002.07 including all taxes.
Irfanullah from Chakesar, said the LPG was sold at Rs 200 per KG in his town and the LPG dealer told him that the price would be further increased in a couple of days.
Muhammad Maaz from Puran tehsil, told he bought the 15KG domestic cylinder of LPG at Rs 2600 and he shocked by this frequent surge in the LPG prices during the last two months of duration.
Ali Bhash, from Basi Alpuri tehsil said the LPG was being sold at Rs 205 per KG in the district headquarters of Shangla, Alpuri and there was no check and balance from the administration side.
He said on the one hand the prevailing government had banned on the cutting and use of firewood on the other it increased the petroleum products prices especially the LPG prices which directly severely impact on the poor inhabitants of Shangla.
Mazhar Hussain, said the government was failed in giving relief to the public but to putting them to the financial disaster as every food items, medicines prices had crossed double digits.
He said the government should decrease the grocery and other domestic use items prices.
An LPG agency dealer, Himayatullah, said increased seven times in the last three months, on May 05, they sold 15KG cylinder at Rs 1500 till May 25 and then its rate increased to Rs 1700, on May 30 it surged to Rs 2000, similarly, the domestic used cylinder rate jumped to Rs 21,15 on Jun 18, then then his supplier further increased the price on Jun 24 to Rs 2300.
He said increase in the LPG price increased frequently, on July 15 it was sold at Rs 2550 and on July 20 its rate fixed to be sold at Rs 2600 and now the rate would be go up further as they received more supply of the cylinders.
