Commissioner Malakand asks authorities to expedite rehabilitation work in Upper Chitral

SWAT: The Malakand Division’s commissioner, Shahidullah Khan has urged the district administration of Upper Chitral, NHA, and works department officers to restore the damaged link roads and bridges as soon as possible.
The Malakand division’s commissioner, Shahidullah Khan stated this during a meeting held in his office, at Saidu Sharif, Swat the other day.
“Take practical and concrete steps for restoration of road infrastructure while oppening them for smooth traffic,” Commissioner said.
He further directed that he would not tolerate any negligence in the rehabilitation works of the affected areas. He issued these directions while presiding over an emergency meeting in the office of Deputy Commissioner Upper Chitral.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Upper Chitral Khalid Zaman Khan gave a detailed briefing about the rehabilitation and relief works in the flood-affected areas. Later, Commissioner Malakand Division also visited the affected roads and appreciated the performance of the district administration of Upper Chitral and other concerned institutions for the restoration of road linkages.
He stressed that the remaining disconnected highways and bridges should be opened for traffic on an emergency basis or alternative routes should be constructed. Commissioner Malakand also directed the Deputy Commissioner to complete the assessment work in Upper Chitral as soon as possible so that the affected families can be paid as per Government’s policy in time.
