SHANGLA: An awareness walk held in Alpuri and Bisham under the banner of clean and green Pakistan here on Tuesday, saplings were also planted on the occasion.
The Central event was held at district headquarters Alpuri, where an awareness walk carried out in the bazaar, people from different walk of life participated.
The DC Shangla, divisional forest officer Shangla Adnan Khan and others planted saplings at University of Swat Shangla campus.
In Bisham, the walk participants carrying banners inscribed with the significance of clean and green environment, marched from tehsil office to main chowk on the Karakoram highway.
Assistant Commissioner Bisham, Wajid Ali, Sub-divisional Officer, Karora, Zahid Hussain, TMO, LG members, trade union office bearers and public participated in the walk.
While speaking to the participants, the AC Bisham said for friendly environment, every citizen has to be kept their surroundings neat and clean also to plant saplings.
He urged the traders beside keeping their front of shops clean, plant saplings where plantation is possible appropriate, which will give them fresh air and oxygen in future.
Later on, the AC and other participants planted saplings at front of tehsil office and other places.
