Residents of Chakesar tehsil took to the streets against power outages and delay in the laying of power supply transmission line to their area from the newly-built grid station.

Niaz Khan of the Pakistan Peoples Party led protesters, who shouted slogans against the government and Pesco.

Mr Niaz said denial of electric supply from the grid station was an injustice with the people of Chakesar tehsil. He said the residents rendered their precious lands for the Khan Khwar power station but electricity would be supplied from there to the people of Bisham and Shang only. The protesters demanded electricity from the grid station and reduction in the duration of power cuts.
