Chakesar residents informed to remove sewage lines discharge into rivers

The local administration of tehsil Chaker has issued notices to the local residents, living along the rivers to remove their sewage pipelines discharged into the rivers that spread chronic disease among the local community.

Tehsil Municipal Administration, tehsil Chakisar on Wednesday issued notices to the residents of Chakisar living near the rivers, streams after formal inspection about the sewage pipelines discharge into rivers and streams and contributing in spread of chronic disease among the public.

Muhammad Ghayoor, TMA official said they had paid visits and identified houses before issuing them the notices, and now they had formally issued them notices to remove their sewerage pipelines within seven days otherwise legal action would be initiated against them upon expiry of deadline.

He said a special campaign had been initiated against those polluting the environment and in both commercial and residential areas and it would be continued till the natural resources, streams and rivers were protected from the pollution.

TMA official said initially they given 17 notices in the residential areas located near Patai Khwar and Quram Khwar where local houses had connected the sewage pipelines with both small rivers and waste discharged into the both rivers.

He said they had strict orders from their authorities to make sure the rivers, streams were safe and protect them from pollution.

In most parts of Shangla district people used these rivers water for domestic use as there was were no filtration plants and any other such facility for clean drinking water for the local masses.

ILLEGAL NUMBER PLATES: The Shangla traffic police have removed illegal number plates from the vehicles plying on Shangla roads and imposed fine on drivers, motorcyclists during crackdown here on Wednesday.

Traffic police in Shangla said they had conducted a crackdown on vehicles and motorcycles plying on the district different routes with illegal number plates after the local administration instructions.

They said illegal number plates had been removed from the vehicles and motorcycles besides imposing fine on the drivers.
