SHANGLA: Minister for information Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shaukat Yousafzai has said that University of Swat‘shangla campus to be made Shangla University very soon, staff at the campus below the 16 scale would be preferably locals.
The minister information Shaukat Yousafzai was addressing at the inaugural ceremony of Computer lab at University of Swat’s Shangla campus here on Thursday. Vice chancellor Doctor Muhammad Jamal Khan, Director campus Mehboob Ur Rehman spoke on the occasion, while DC Shangla Imran Hussain Ranjha, ADC Maqbool Hussain were also present on the occasion.
The minister said that establishment of university campus was his dream which came true and now he is making efforts to make it full fledged university.
“On my special request the chief minister KP Mahmood Khan has approved Rs 02 billion and 600 million for the development projects of Shangla district,” The minister claimed and added that links roads, water supply schemes would be initiated in every village council of the district also hospitals and schools on need based.
He said, he also got approved 25 Kilometer Karora-Ajmir road, 25KM Karora-Chakesar road, while they would be tenderised in the month of April, beside it, as the government has kept focus on to promote and boost tourism in the KP’s upper district a 24 feet wide road to be built from Ajmir to Bruj banda a tourist point of Kana tehsil for which Rs 160 million had been approved.
The minister further said that illegal coalmines of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which are causing of tragic incidents to be closed very soon as survey on the government directives is being underway in the different parts of the province.
He said the Ihsas program of scholarships was for the needy students that they could continue their studies as per their desire.
Mr Yousafzai also criticized the contractors, said that they were using tactics to delay his schemes and using sub-standard material but he will no longer tolerate the practice and will go to submit application against them in the anti-corruption.
He said that he is optimistic that the university management would ensure to recruit local candidates instead the outsiders for the posts bellow 16 scale.
The VC said that the university’s campus was going well and providing quality education to the pupil especially to make them familiar with the technology.
A library was also inaugurated in the campus on the occasion, while certificates distributed among the semester position holders students and scholarships too.
Director Campus thanked the government first for the new building and now the computer lab inaugurated on the occasion.
