International Cricket Counsel World Cup is being played in United Kingdom and Wales. 28th match of this interesting tournament played in Southampton, on Saturday, Jun 22nd 2019 between India and Afghanistan. It seem a one sided match before starting that match. India did not loss and match in this tournament and Afghanistan did not win anyone. As per estimation and record India won this match by 11 runs.

This match was very interesting. This match has many ups and downs. Nobody could say anything since last over.

Afghanistan kept two changes in the team. Noor Ali Zadran and Hasmid Hassan rest in camp and Najibullah Zadran and Mujeeb Ur Rahman joint to team on their place, while India kept one change, Muhammad Shami played the match and gave rest to Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

India won the toss and chose to bat first. It has a good experience a big total against Pakistan. Indian start was not too good. At the total of 7 in 5th over, the best opener of Indian team, Rohit Sharma out. His individual score was 1. It is a rare failure of Rohit. He did not recognize Mujeb ur Rahman magical ball and gave wicket. Rahul and Captain Virat Kohli made a half century partnership for second wicket.

In 15th over, Rahul left his captain and went to pavilion when he was on 30. Hazratullah took his catch on Muhammad Nabi’s ball. Then India has lost his two wickets at the total of 64. Vihay Shankar came for batting but did not run long. He had gone at the sum of 122. He received Rahmat Shah’s ball on his pat and gave wicket. He went to review, but third umpire remained the umpire’s decision. He scored 29 runs. Virat Kohli played a responsible innings and completed his fifty, but could not change fifty in century and out on 67 runs. He was the second hunt of Muhammad Nabi. This time Kohli catch took Rahmat Shah. India has lost his four main batsmen on just 135 runs. It was a sign that India could not establish a big total.

MS Dhoni and Kedar created 57 runs partnership. Rashid Khan broke that partnership. Rashid’s full and fast outside off, and turning further away. Dhoni skips down the wicket to lift it over Rashid, but he misses the legbreak, and that’s the end of the Indian wicketkeeper. It was very surprised that only second time MSD has been stumped in one day matches. Dhoni scored 28 runs. Half team of the team had gone to pavilion at the total of 192 runs. Kedar Jadhav tried to establish a big total on score board, but other batsmen did not support him. Hardik Pandya got out on 7 while Mohammad Shami was scoreed 1. Jadhave completed his fifty and out on 52. Gulbadin and M. Nabi took 2 wickets each while Muheeb ur Rahman, Aftab Alam, Rashid Khan and Rahmat Shah took 1 wicket each. India scored 224 in 50 overs after lost of 8 wickets.

It was not a big total. Afghanistan’s fans were waiting for a big upset. Afghanistan’s start was also not too good. Both openers tried to play a sensible game. Afghanistan lost its first wicket, when Hazaratullah out on 2o. He scored 10 runs. M. Shami took his wicket and proved it right to be his selection. Hazratullah swings for the midwicket fence. It was full, fast and just not there for that choice of shot! Zazai’s struggles against Shami come to an end, as he eventually loses patience. Rahmat Shah and Captain Gulbadin Nabi prepared a 44 runs partnership. Pandya broke that partnership and took wicket of Ghlabadin. He gone on 27, white the total was 64. Shankar took Gulbadin catch.

Rahmat Shah was the third wicket, which is taken by Bumrah when total were 106. Rahmat tried to short, and he has looked to hook this away, and holed out. Top edge as he has to fetch this from outside off, and Chahal runs in from fine leg and takes a low catch, diving forward. He scored 36 runs. After one ball Afghanistan lost its 4th wicket on same score when Hasmatullah was the next hunt of Bumrah. Bumrah Digs in a short-of-a-length ball, angled into Shahidi, who jumps as he tries to negotiate this. It runs off the outside of the bat and pops back up for Bumrah, who takes the catch. That over was the turning point for Afghanistan as well as India.

Another shock was received by Indian bowler when the key batsman of Afghanistan had gone on 8 runs. Chahal threw a full, on off, and Asghar goes for a wild slog. Down on one knee, playing across the line, and the ball skids through to clip off stump. Afghanistan half team had gone on 130. Mohammad Nabi tried to play well and kept the target, but Najibullah Zadran and Rashid Khan out on 21 and 14.

Wicket of Rashid Khan was also a hopeless sign for Afghani fans. Mohammad Nabi was the second wicket of Shami, when he came for his last spill. M. Nabi scored 52 runs. M. Shami took Aftab Alam and Mujeeb ur Rahman’s wickets in last over. Now M. Shami is on Hattrik. M. Shami took 4 wickets while J Bumrah, Y Chahal and Hridyak Pandya took 2 wickets each. Man of the match is J Bumrah with 2 wickets.

India won this match, but Afghanistan shown that it cans a big upset. It is an alarming sign for Pakistan, because Pakistan already lost its warm-up match against Afghanistan. After this win, India on third position on point table with 9 points.
