SHANGLA: Several political activists from Pakistan Muslim League-N and Pakistan People Party in Shangla announced joining in the Pakistan Tehrik-I-Insaf by ending loyalties to their parties here on Tuesday.
They announced joining the PTI during a public gathering here at Lodhar area of Kana tehsil on Tuesday. Provincial minister for labour and culture, Shaukat Yousafzai was chief guest on the occasion who also announced schemes for the area.
While addressing at the public gathering in Lodhar, the minister said that it was the trust of public that people switching to Pakistan Tehrik-I-Insaf and his progress in the district uplift was also the reason.
He said that he was making efforts to bring at par the district Shangla with the KP’s developed districts for which this government was helping him.
Minister said it was his dream to make Shangla a most liked tourism spots among the KP’s tourists destinations as it had a potential but needed development in terms of communication for which he had been allocating funds and work on several roads was continued.
The Pakistan People Party’s senior leader Gul Shahzada along with his family and supporters announced joining in the PTI and urged the PTI’s leadership to initiate development schemes in his area which had been neglected by the previous elected representatives.
The minister labour and culture, Shaukat Yousafzai assured the local people of Lodhar that their issues would be addressed and their schemes would be added in the upcoming annual development schemes.
The minister, however, announced Olandar road to be executed very soon to ease the local people travel across the area.
MEANWHILE, Shangla police arrested two drug peddlers from Alpuri and Bisham tehsil on Tuesday.
A statement issued by the DPO Shangla on Tuesday said that during raids in Bisham and Alpuri circles police had arrested a wanted drug peddler Aslam Khan, resident of Kolai Pallas Kohistan and recovered over 1000 gram hashish from his possession.
It said the police had registered a case against the suspect and started further interrogation into the case.
Similarly in Alpuri, the Alpuri police arrested Gul Amreez of Bazar Kot and recovered 1300 gram hashish from his possession and started further interrogation after registration of FIR against him.
