ISLAMABAD: Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) on Monday organized folk, classical, and Sufi dance performances to celebrate International Dance Day.
Federal Secretary National Heritage and Culture was the chief guest on the occassion.
In his remarks, Secretary said that the International dance day was aimed to raise awareness about the inherent value of dance and empower the dance community to showcase their work to a wider audience.
He highlighted the significance of celebrating International Dance Day as a means of promoting diverse dance forms and preserving the cultural heritage of various nations.
Earlier, addressing the opening ceremony here at PNCA auditorium, Director General PNCA Muhammad Ayoub Jamali said that folk dancing in the different regions of Pakistan reflects the mood, occupation and surroundings of the people and the few are popular through out the country.
National Performing Arts Group (NPAG) PNCA, Asfandyar Khattak and other prominent artists presented folk dances at the event.
National Performing Arts Group (NPAG) PNCA comprising experienced dancers, ochestras and technical staff also showcased folk dances on the occsion and got big applause from the audience.
The group was popular for providing quality performance that create harmonious musical accompaniment, good supporting effects of costumes, props and lighting in order to bring about a fully developed stage art.
