Anti-polio campaign commencing from November 27

District coordinator for expanded program on immunization, Doctor Muhammad Hussain has said that 194,435 children under the age of five will be administered with anti-polio drops in Shangla during five day drive commencing from November, 27 in the district.

The EPI district coordinator, Doctor Muhammad Hussain told journalists after the inaugural ceremony of the anti-polio drive here at the deputy commissioner, office in Alpuri on Saturday. DC Shangla, Ziaur Rehman inaugurated the campaign while administering anti-polio drops to a child. District health officer, Dr. Muhammad Saleem and other officials were present on the occasion.

Dr Hussain said the preparations for the upcoming had been finalized and the team training sessions were being conducted across the district health facilities the drive will kick off on November, 27 and will continue till December 02 next month.

He said 914 teams for roaming, door-to-door visits, fixed points, and entry exit points will take part in the drive to cover children under the age of five across the district.

The EPI coordinator said 65 union council officers and 297 area in-charges besides monitoring officers and administration officials would also take part in the campaign to make it accomplished.

The health official said he was hopeful the target of children would be achieved in the drive despite weather challenges.
