Court sentenced man for life imprisonment over murdering his wife

SHANGLA: The Shangla district session court has sentenced a man for life imprisonment for killing his wife by torturing her 18 months ago at remote Pishlor area of Martung tehsil.

The district police officer, Shangla, Muhammad Imran issued a statement on Thursday that with the transparent and timely investigation the Shangla district session judge Amir Nazir Bhatti sentenced an accused Rehmat Malik for life imprisonment who had murdered his wife by torturing her and tied with a Charpoy last year in 2020.

It said on the complaint of the deceased woman brother an FIR was registered under section 302 at police station Martung and during investigation it was proved that he woman was killed by her spouse.

The statement said during trials police provided all available evidences to the court on that basis the session judge sentenced the murderer life imprisonment.

Rescue 1122 officials said that after receiving an information about the blaze their team reached the spot and started rescue work along with the police team and locals to extinguish the fire.

They said the family members were safely evacuated and also some goods were also saved from damages, however, around Rs 1.5 million lost claimed by the house owner.

The house owner, Jan Sawab and his brother Gul Zaman told police that it was three storey building of two brothers which reduced to ashes within an hour and now nothing left to them to live in.

They demanded shelters and blankets, foods from the district administration and PDMA to live with children and elderly in the shelter in the prevailing winter harsh season.
