The National Database and Registration Authority has closed down its centre in Martung tehsil over failure to pay rent.
Sources said the Nadra centre was established in 2013, but despite several notices submitted by the building owner the department failed to pay him the rent, resulting in its closure.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz provincial president Amir Muqam had established the Nadra centres at each tehsil of the district.

The sources said Martung centre was also closed down in 2017 for the same reasons, but later reopened on the intervention of then MNA Ibadullah.
Nadra officials said they had forwarded the notices sent to them by the building owner to the authorities in Islamabad, but the rent issue remained unresolved, forcing them to close it down.

When contacted, MPA Faisal Zeb said he would meet the Nadra director general, and hopefully, the rent issue would be resolved.
