SHANGLA: Local residents of Bisham Shangla have demanded of the authorities of the police department to discourage the local drug-addicted youth because the majority of them are university, colleges, and school students destroying their lives with hashish.
The Bisham local residents told reporters that youth particularly the universities, colleges, and schools students were being addicted to hashish and bring from Shang area of Bisham and Kohistan district border’s hotels.
Doctor Bakht Zeb Umar Khel, said the youth of every household had been addicted to hashish smoking and rising the addictions within the young men of 15-25 ages.
“As I know about 90 percent of local youth of Butyal village particularly the university students have been addicted to this curse and getting addicted others too,” He claimed.
Zahid an elder said parents of the hashish addicted boys do not ask their sons whereabouts and character and they spoiling their lives in such bad habits.
He claimed these young men bought the hashish from hotels located on the Karakoram Highway in Kohistan district bordering and also from Shang outskirts of Bisham city.
Fazal Elahi, a social activist said that they repeatedly asked police for taking strict action against drug peddlers and drug addicts but to no avail.
He said that he was worried about the current and next-generation who is addicting with the curse rapidly and spoiling their lives even such addicted youth don’t concentrate on their studies.
The Bisham locals appealed the regional police officer, RPO Malakand division, Ijaz Khan and RPO Hazara division to take action on the rising issue of the society in Shangla, Kohistan and discourage the addicted youth and also curb the sale points of drugs within Kohistan and Shangla for saving the young men lives from spoiling.
