SHANGLA: The livestock department Shangla has launched Mass drive for eliminating the ticks causing the fatal congo fever commenced in shangla under the ADP Scheme, the campaign will last till Eidul-Azha.
The anti congo virus launching ceremony was held at Chakesar the other day, additional assistant commissioner, Chakesar, Anwar Ali was the chief guest.
While briefing the media persons at the launching ceremony, Dr Shaukat Hayat, monitoring officer, said that during this drive door to door animals spraying and treatment with anti ticks injection services will be provided to all the animals of shangla.
He said, the campaign will last till Eidul-Azhd and the livestock teams would visit every village of the district for the vaccination to save the public from the deadly virus which spread from animals.
“During Eidul-Azha people buy animals for sacrifice which vulnerable to the congo virus which transmits to human from the sacrificial animals and can get lives of the public, so in this pre mass campaign we try to save animals and the public lives too,” He said.
He said, In the second stage, spray points will be established at the main entry points and exits of the district including Shangla top, Dandai, and Jambal.
Assistant Commissioner, Chakesar, Anwar Ali, expressed satisfaction on the initiative and assured to extend maximum possible support of the district administration to livestock department.
AC Chakesar and the livestock department officials assured the farmers present on the occasion that Medicines will be distributed among farmers free of cost.
