Mega road projects approved for Shangla to boost tourism, claims minister

SHANGLA: Minister for labour and culture Shaukat Yousafzai has claimed that four mega roads projects for Shangla have been approved and it will be a game-changer for the tourism sector in the district.
Minister labour and culture was addressing an inaugural ceremony of newly upgraded Rural Health Center at Larai in Kana tehsil here on Saturday. PTI district president Waqar Ahmed was also present on the occasion.
Minister said, the government has approved funds for the mega projects of roads constructing to tourist spots Ajmeer-Bruj Banda, Shahpur-Kapar Banda, Yakhtangay-Malam Jaba and Bisham Qala to Lahore which will help in boosting the area’s tourism.
He claimed four other roads and three RCC bridges were also approved by the Asian Development Bank for Shangla he had given to include in the upcoming schemes.
“In this upcoming annual development program ADP Rs 350 million have been allocated for the tehsil headquarters hospital Bisham, We are bringing reforms in the health sector for the betterment of the hospitals,” He added.
He further said, Rs 520 million had been allocated for the reconstruction of schools which were by Earthquake Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Authority Erra.
He said funds have also been provided for construction of a new degree college at Shahpur and in Pandyar area of Bisham they are making efforts to build a boys degree college for the Bisham students.
Minister claimed work on 77 new roads was underway across the district in order to ease the local people’s lives and they can enjoy the facilities.
“I am intended to install chairlift at Bahadar Sar a tourist place in Lilonai, roads to these tourist destinations are being executed but some pending for which I would meet the Erra’s director-general in next week,” He said.
Minister said he welcome to his opponents to come forward join hands with him in the progress and prosperity of Shangla till general elections and avoid creating hurdles on the way of the district development.
