Three arrest for taking bribe from Ehsas Program beneficiaries

SHANGLA: Shangla police have arrested three men for allegedly over charging the Ehsas Kaflat program beneficiaries in Alpuri tehsil areas on second day of the relief program here on Saturday.

A statement issued by the district police officer, Shangla, Malak Ihjaz on Saturday, said that during a joint raid with local intelligence on tip-off local police arrested three private company’s retailers who were violating the government rules of the Ehsas program also allegedly taking Rs 500-1000 from each beneficiary.

It said, the retailers had to pay Rs 12,000 to beneficiary and deduction from the said amount is illegal and retailers should follow rules and avoid overcharging the beneficiaries.

Police arrested three men identified as Sabar Zada of Dehrai, Sajid Aman of Pagorai and Sabir Khan of Barkaly Alpurai and resgistered cases against the while beginning further interrogation.

The statement said the government had established special camps for the Ihsas program across the district where women receive the stipend where police, LHWs and other staff present.
