The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl has warned that the Karakoram Highway will be blocked for an indefinite period if the provincial government arrests its workers ahead of the ‘Azadi March’.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F cabinets of all six districts Shangla, Battagram, Torghar, Upper, Lower and Kolai Pallas Kohistan of the Abasin region held a meeting on Wednesday, also a press conference in connection the upcoming Azadi Long March on the agenda of to respond to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
“Our local elected MPA who is minister for Information KP Shaukat Yousafzai is threatening us that our workers would be arrested but today we want give a clear message to PTI led government to avoid using such tactics against us otherwise we all the JUI-F workers of Abasin region will block the KKH for all sorts of traffic,” Qari Zainullah, district emir, JUI-F Shangla, said.
He said they were peaceful workers and wanted a peaceful sit-in against the puppet government, we will go peacefully to participate in the long march and the leadership has ordered to them to refrain from attacking on the government property.
“Our workers are receiving calls and pressurize them and asking them to not go for long march also the transporters that if they go with JUI-F then they would be arrested for three months,” the JUI-F leader claimed.
Mulana Fariduddin, JUI-F leader in Battagram, said that JUI-F workers and leadership of all the Abasin region will use the KKH to reach Islamabad for participation in Long March and if the government attempted to halt their peaceful protest then they would block the KKH and would not let any vehicle on the international route.
“I urged the law enforcement agencies to register FIR against Shaukat Yousafzai as he has been involved in pressurizing the government officials in the district. DC Tashfeen Haider was pressured by him for not adhering his orders also former DC Shangla Fayaz Sherpaw for recruitment Mr Yousafzai recommended candidates but he transfer himself from the district,” Sher Alam Khan, JUI-F leader, alleged.
He said, Shaukat Yousafzai says he would get arrested the JUI-F workers under section 152 but he doesn’t know the article 152 role in the law, however Yousafzai can be arrested under section 506 for pressurizing government officials.
Mehboob Ur Rehman, General secretory, JUI-F Upper Kohistan, said that their rallies would remain peaceful and protest is our constitutional rights and they would do their best to stage successful sit-in.
During the meeting a committee was formed by the Abasin region for dealing the march related matters and Mualana Fariduddin was nominated chairman of the committee in which all the districts general secretaries would be members of it.
