SHANGLA: Residents of Shangla blocked the Karakoram Highway at Bisham chowk taking the district education officer Kolai Pallas Kohistan coffin on the international route stage protest against the alleged brutal murder, funeral offered at Chakesar Shangla on Sunday.
Shangla residents came from Chakesar, Alpuri, Shahpur and different parts of Bisham tehsil staged protest against the alleged brutal murder of DEO Nawab Ali at his office in Pallas area of Kolai Pallas Kohistan on Saturday evening.
Demonstrators blocked the KKH upon arrival of the dead body from Kohistan and they were also chanting slogans against the alleged Jirga, MPA and police officers for initially terming the case as suicide which later in the autopsy proved murder.
Bakht Alam, the PML-N district general secretory, said while addressing at the demonstrators that killing of a brave, devoted and kind officer who taught to generations is totally a terrorism of Pallas people.
“Some days back we we left a Kohistani retired DPO with honour and in a car rally in response they sent us a coffin of our officer who has killed brutally,” the PML-N leader, said.
Sher Alam Khan, JUI-F leader warned the Kolai Pallas administration that if they failed to arrest the culprits within 24 hours they would block all the roads leads to Pallas including the Karakoram Highway.
He claimed that Nawab Ali killed just for appointment of class-iv with transparency and avoid the MPA orders in appointment for which he murdered.
The protesters have demanded of the government to arrest police officials, the department staff for investigation in the case and arrest the culprits otherwise they will not be able to control the situation.
The road was remained blocked for five hours, however DPO Shangla Malak Ijaz assured the demonstrators that he talked to the Kohistan authorities and they would arrest the culprits involved in the DEO Nawab Ali murder. The protesters dispersed and the dead body left for Chakesar.
On Sunday, the funeral prayer of the assassinated DEO-Male Kolai Pallas Kohistan offered in his native town Chakesar, in which attended by people from different walk of life including education officials and elected representatives of Shangla.
Soon after the funeral prayer, Meetings of Shangla notables, teachers associations and youth in which they decided to stage a full fledged agitation on the Karakoram Highway against the murder and still not registering FIR of the case.
They also decided to hold a Jirga with Kohistan elders and to seek arrest of culprits including the MPA for alleged involvement in the murder.
The teacher association demanded martyred package for the DEO’s heirs and also immediate arrest of culprits.
Nawab Ali was an 19 grade officer, who had served as teacher, principal and ADO and DEO in various districts of Malakand and Hazara divisions.
