SHANGLA: Three youth councilors elected unopposed before local government by-election and candidates of two union councils in Shangla submitted their nominations to contest the by-election, to be held on December 23 this month.

According to district election commissioner Shangla Bakhtiarul-Mulk that for local government by-election in one district council ward Dandai, one tehsil council ward Bahlol Khel and 7 village councils for general and youth councilors candidates submitted their nominations and final lists have been displayed of the candidates here on Tuesday.

He said for Dandai district council seat Shah Wali Khan is going to contest on Pakistan Muslim League-N ticket, Gulzar Khan on Awami National Party ticket, Mujeeb Ur Rehman independent and Mujahid Shah Independently taking part in the upcoming by-election.

He added that for tehsil council Bahlol Khel of Puran tehsil seat Said Rauf Khan of ANP, Kamal Zada independent and Muhammad Mujahid independent submitted their nominations and obtained their symbols for by-election.

Similarly, for village council Navykaly Shahpur general seat Rahim bar and Stultan-I-Sham are contestants and VC Opal general councilor slot Nasiruddin and Said Bakhtiar Ali are going to defeat each others.

The district election commissioner further said that three youth councilor candidates elected unopposed in three various village councils including VC Dehrai, VC Malak Khel in tehsil Alpuri and VC Chagam in tehsil Puran.

He said just single candidates had submitted their nomination in these village councils for youth seats, hence youth councilors elected unopposed, while by election would be held in one district one tehsil and two village councils between the contestants for which candidates may start their election campaign onward till the polling day.
