BRT service to expand Khyber and other areas: CM Sohail Afridi

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Sunday took a ride on the BRT bus and travelled across Peshawar city and met the public and BRT staff.

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has announced the extension of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service to the Jamrud, TD Bazaar, and Bara Bazaar areas of the Khyber district.

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Sunday took a ride on the BRT bus and travelled across Peshawar city and met the public and BRT staff.

While talking to the Media, he stated that the BRT service in Peshawar is a gift from his leader, Imran Khan, to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The BRT is providing an affordable and efficient transportation option for the poor and middle class. To reduce congestion, 50 new buses have been purchased, with plans to acquire an additional 50 very soon. Furthermore, the service will be extended to other areas to ensure that even more people can benefit.

The Chief Minister visited the University of Peshawar station of the BRT and spoke with citizens about their experiences using the service. He, along with elected assembly members and the Chief Secretary, travelled from the University of Peshawar station to Karkhano station on a bus, engaging with passengers during the ride. Many citizens expressed their joy at having the Chief Minister among them and took selfies.

While addressing media representatives at Karkhano Station, the Chief Minister explained that his purpose for riding the BRT bus was to directly assess the service.
