The International Cricket Council (ICC) decided to impose a ban on Pakistani cricketer Haris Rauf for violating rules during cricket matches between Pakistan and India.
The ICC has made distinct decisions regarding violations of the rules during the Asia Cup tournament. In a statement, the council announced the imposition of a two-match ban on Pakistani cricketer Haris Rauf for rule violations.
During the Asia Cup tournament 2025 between India and Pakistan, the ICC has announced its decisions on the violation of rules in this match. The hearing was overseen by a member of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees.

In a hearing chaired by match referee Richie Richardson:
Surya Kumar Yadav (India) was found guilty of breaching Article 2.21 of the rules, which deals with “conduct that brings the game into disrepute.” He was fined 30% of his match fee and two demerit points.
Farhan (Pakistan) was cautioned and received one demerit point for violating the same provision of the Code of Conduct.
Haris Rauf (Pakistan) also incurred a fine of 30% of his match fee and two demerit points for the identical infraction.

At a hearing by match referee Andy Pycroft:
Arshdeep Singh (India) was acquitted of the charge under Article 2.6, which deals with “making an indecent or offensive gesture,” and no action was taken against him.

At the final match: Jasprit Bumrah (India) incurred an official warning and one demerit point after admitting to a breach of Article 2.21. Since he accepted the sanction immediately, a formal hearing was not required.
Haris Rauf (Pakistan) was also found guilty under the same article. He was fined 30% of his match fee and given two additional demerit points.
Haris Rauf has now accrued four demerit points over 24 months. Consequently, ICC regulations dictate a mandatory two-match suspension.
According to an ICC statement, Haris Rauf will now be barred from participation in Pakistan’s two ODIs against South Africa (November 4 and 6, 2025).
