
Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar has announced the results of the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025 within just 24 hours following the peaceful and transparent conduct of the exam. This achievement sets a new benchmark for professional competence and performance.
Out of a total of 39,986 registered candidates, 38,447 appeared for the exam, resulting in a participation rate of 96%. Conversely, 1,539 candidates, or 4%, were absent. Additionally, one case of Unfair Means (UFM) was reported.
The official results reveal that 894 candidates (2.33%) scored between 170 and 180 marks; 3,516 candidates (9.15%) scored between 160 and 169 marks; 3,658 candidates (9.51%) scored between 150 and 159 marks; 3,253 candidates (8.46%) scored between 140 and 149 marks; and 3,115 candidates (8.10%) scored between 130 and 139 marks. Furthermore, 2,961 candidates (7.70%) scored between 120 and 129 marks; 3,080 candidates (8.01%) scored between 110 and 119 marks; 2,887 candidates (7.51%) scored between 100 and 109 marks; while 2,817 candidates (7.33%) scored between 90 and 99 marks. Notably, 12,258 candidates (31.88%) scored 89 marks or below.
Overall, 53.26% of the candidates achieved 55% or more marks, qualifying them for admission to MBBS programs under the PMDC policy. Additionally, 58.43% of candidates scored 50% or more, making them eligible for admission to BDS programs.

He emphasised that announcing the results within just 24 hours is a testament to the hard work and professional efficiency of the KMU team. He also stated that this accomplishment is a source of pride not only for Khyber Medical University but also for the provincial government and the entire province.
Looking ahead, Prof. Dr Zia-ul-Haq mentioned that the next phase of admissions to government medical and dental colleges will commence soon, followed by admissions to private medical and dental colleges in the third phase.
