KMU announces date for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa MDCAT

Over 40,000 candidates to take part in the test amid strict security, biometric verification

The Khyber Medical University (KMU) on Wednesday announced the schedule for the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT). The test is set to take place across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on October 26, with over 40,000 candidates expected to participate.

According to the statement issued by the KMU on Wednesday that the exam will be conducted simultaneously in seven major cities within the province, including Peshawar, Mardan, Dera Ismail Khan, Kohat, Lower Dir, Swat, and Abbottabad.

In a statement released on Wednesday, KMU officials confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been finalised to ensure the test is conducted transparently and securely. Each Deputy Commissioner has been assigned responsibility for supervising the examination centres in their respective districts.

To maintain law and order and prevent cheating, Section 144 will be enforced around all examination centres, prohibiting public gatherings in the vicinity on the day of the exam. Additionally, mobile phone jammers will be installed to block cellular signals in and around the test centres.

All candidates will be verified using the National Database and Registration Authority’s (NADRA) biometric verification system before being granted entry. Hidden cameras will monitor candidates throughout the exam to ensure transparency.

The KMU administration emphasised that strict security protocols have been implemented. Police will oversee the delivery and return of examination papers to and from the testing halls.

The MDCAT is a mandatory requirement for admission to public and private medical and dental colleges across Pakistan. This year’s exam in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be conducted under the supervision of KMU, following the guidelines set by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
