India triumphed over Pakistan by 88 runs in the ongoing Women’s World Cup in Colombo, with the Pakistan Women’s team bowled out for 159 runs while chasing a target of 248 runs.
Pakistan’s batting innings got off to a disappointing start, as the top three players were dismissed for a mere total of 26 runs. Muniba Ali scored 2 runs, Sadaf Shams contributed 6, and Alia Riaz was also out for just 2 runs.
Sidra Amin showed some resistance with a commendable innings of 81 runs, while Natalia Parvez added 31 runs. However, Captain Fatima Sana could only manage 2 runs, Sidra Nawaz scored 14, and Diana Baig made 9 runs, with Rameen Shamim dismissed without scoring.
For India, Harleen Deol was the top scorer with 46 runs. Jemimah Rodrigues contributed 32 runs, Pratika Rawal scored 31, Deepti Sharma added 25, and Richa Ghosh played an aggressive innings, scoring 35 runs off just 20 balls, bringing the team’s total to 248 runs.

In terms of bowling, Diana Baig was the standout for Pakistan, taking 4 wickets. Sadia Iqbal and Fatima Sana each took 2 wickets, while Rameen Shamim and Nashra Sindhu each took 1 wicket.
