Two separate sexual assault cases reported in Haripur

In a separate incident reported on the same day, an attempted sexual assault on a child aged between seven and eight years took place near Bhera Stop in the jurisdiction of Panian Police Station.

HARIPUR: The Haripur Police arrested three suspects in connection with two separate incidents of sexual assault and attempted assault against young boys in different areas of Haripur district on Wednesday.

According to the police statement, the first incident occurred in the Kharian area within the jurisdiction of the Makhnial Police Station, where a 16- to 17-year-old boy was allegedly sexually assaulted.

The police statement said the suspects, identified as Rizwan and Faizan, both residents of Kharian, were taken into custody following a complaint filed by the victim’s family.

A First Information Report (FIR) was registered under Sections 376, 53CPA, and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

Station House Officer (SHO) Imran Nawaz led the arrest operation along with other personnel from the Makhnial Police Station.

In a separate incident reported on the same day, an attempted sexual assault on a child aged between seven and eight years took place near Bhera Stop in the jurisdiction of Panian Police Station.

Police statement mentioned that the accused, Shahzad Ali, son of Muhammad Zaman and a resident of Mohalla Markazi Masjid Bhera, was arrested shortly after the complaint was lodged at the police station.

Police have registered a case against Ali under Section 376 and 53CPA PPC. SHO Khalid Khan of Panian Police Station led the arrest operation, and further inquiry into the matter is being conducted.

Both operations were conducted on the instructions of District Police Officer (DPO) Haripur Farhan Khan, who has directed a continued crackdown on individuals involved in crimes against children and other social offences.

A police spokesperson stated that the department remains committed to protecting vulnerable populations and bringing perpetrators of such crimes to justice.
