
Kartarpur and the Gurdwara Darbaar Sahib compound are submerged in water after the devastating flood in the River Ravi in Punjab on Wednesday.
The Pakistan Army has started the rescue operations and transferred millions of people to safe places through boats.
According to details, the flood in the River Ravi occurred after India suddenly released water, and it has also caused flooding in the areas of Narowal District.
There are reports that the level of the River Ravi has exceeded 2 lakh 40 thousand cusecs. The water entered the Kartarpur corridor due to the flood, and the Gurdwara Darbaar Sahib main gate, stairs, and the yard were submerged up to 3 feet.
Exclusion Trust Property Board authorities have confirmed that the pilgrimage series will resume after the drainage of floodwater and the completion of the treatment process.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, while giving a briefing to the media, said that federal and provincial institutes are giving a national response.
He stated that more than 1.5 lakh people have been relocated to safe areas. DGISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudry said that we are with our nation in this difficult time. The army has intensified the rescue operations in Narowal, and ration packages are also distributed among affected families.
According to the authorities of Rescue 1122, more than 32,000 people have been saved in Punjab Province, with 719 people in Nankana Sahib, 124 in Hafizabad, and 103 in Narowal being transferred. The rescue operation has 436 boats active, and an additional 400 boats are on standby.

Inspector General Police (IGP) of Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has said that police personnel are taking every possible step to save the lives and property of flood-affected people.
Police teams are patrolling in riverside villages, and PDMA, District Administration, and other agencies are in continuous contact.
On the other hand, Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, on Wednesday, while accusing India of releasing water into Pakistan and exacerbating the flood situation, stated that India had released water in rallies against the Indus Water Treaty, which had caused unexpected flooding in rivers.
According to experts, the flood will decrease in the next 12 to 48 hours in the River Ravi, that’s why operatives in affected areas are underway to transfer people to safe places.
