PTI removes 5 MNAs from party ranks, cites disciplinary action

It is mentioned in the notification that these MNA had voted against the party in 26th amendment bill

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has expelled five renegade members of the National Assembly from the party and issued a formal notification to that effect.

According to the details, this decision follows the actions of PTI leaders who voted in favor of the government alliance regarding the 26th Constitutional Amendment. The members expelled from the party include Zahoor Qureshi, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, Mubarak Zeb Khan, Ilyas Chaudhry, and Usman Ali.

The notification, signed by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, states that these members violated party instructions by supporting the amendment despite a unanimous decision during a party meeting to oppose it. The renegade members voted for the amendment on October 21, 2024, which constitutes a serious breach of party loyalty and their oath of office.

The notification also mentions that a show-cause notice was issued for their failure to adhere to party directives, and action was taken due to their lack of response to this notice. Furthermore, the notification declares these members eligible for disqualification for joining another party and calls for their disqualification from office.
