In a tragic incident, three tourist from Harbanspura, Lahore died when a glacier collapsed near Sohni waterfall in Naran. The deceased belong to same family including father, his son and cousin. Incident occured when they were taking selies at that spot. Authorities are making urgent arrangements to transfer the bodies to Lahore safely.
Advisor to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Tourism, Zahid Chanzeb has expressed deep sorrow on this incident. He praised the urgent response of Rescue 1122 and advised the tourists not to go near unfortified areas. He also advised them not to take selfies or pictures in such areas. He also clarified that the importance of precautionary measures at tourist places will be further highlighted.
Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued an advisery for tourist places to make tourism more effective in the region. Tourists are advised to enjoy the natural beauty while taking necessary precautionary measures.
Naran-Kaghan remains the most popular tourist place of Pakistan and tourist from all over the country visit here occasionally. The waterfall and glacier of this place hold its own importance. Due to recent climate change, many glaciers in this area are melting. Melting of these glacier often become the reason of different incidents.

In another incident at least two tourists died and three others were injured when a car met an accident at the Ginni area of Chillas in Diamar’s Gilgit Baltistan here on Wednesday. The accident occurred when a vehicle (number LE-9002) lost control while taking a turn and crashed.
