Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited Kamra Airbase to meet the brave heroes of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) who established Pakistan’s aerial supremacy by destroying Indian aircraft during the recent defense of the homeland.
According to a statement, PM Shehbaz met the PAF’s Shaheens (Falcons) who shattered the enemy’s illusion of superiority in one of the longest aerial engagements of the 21st century.
During the visit, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and senior civil and military leadership accompanied the prime minister.
It may be recalled that after the Pahalgam incident on April 22, 2025, India began leveling baseless allegations against Pakistan, leading to strained relations between the two countries.
India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, restricted Pakistani diplomatic staff, and revoked visas of all Pakistanis in India—including children seeking medical treatment—forcing their repatriation.
In response, Pakistan declared India’s illegal suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty as an act of war, imposed reciprocal restrictions on Indian diplomats, canceled visas for all Indians except Sikh pilgrims, suspended all trade with India, and closed its airspace to Indian flights.
Subsequently, on the night of February 6-7, India launched missile strikes on six locations, including Kotli, Bahawalpur, Muridke, Bagh, and Muzaffarabad, martyring 26 civilians and injuring 46. Pakistan retaliated immediately, shooting down five Indian warplanes, including three Rafale jets.
On the night of February 10, India targeted three Pakistani airbases with missiles and drones. At dawn, Pakistan launched *Operation Bunyan Marsoos (Iron Wall)* in response, destroying multiple high-value Indian military installations, including Adampur, Pathankot, and Adampur airbases, BrahMos missile storage sites, S-400 missile defense systems, and other strategic targets.
Security sources confirmed that the operation specifically targeted the airbases from which India had attacked Pakistani civilians and mosques.
At dawn, *Operation Bunyan Marsoos* was initiated, with Pakistan firing *Fatah-V* missiles into Indian territory. Pakistani missiles also obliterated a BrahMos storage site in the Bias region, while the Pakistan Army destroyed an airfield in Pathankot. Additionally, Indian military intelligence training centers in Rajouri and Nowshera—used for orchestrating terrorism in Pakistan—were completely demolished.
The prime minister lauded the PAF’s unmatched professionalism and valor, reaffirming that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully capable of defending the nation against any aggression.
