Bannu division boosts security after talks with local committees: checkpoints to be increased, joint operations planned against terrorists

Commissioner Bannu Division Muhammad Ali Shah holds meeting with local committees at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Lakki Marwat, accompanied by Regional Police Officer Bannu Sajjad Khan and Brigadier Imran Aslam.

According to details, a special meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Lakki Marwat with Commissioner Bannu Division Mr. Muhammad Ali Shah, accompanied by RPO Bannu Sajjad Khan and Brigadier Imran Aslam, along with local peace committees. The meeting was attended by Colonel Muhammad Khan, Deputy Commissioner Lakki Marwat Zeeshan Abdullah, senior officials, and local elders.

The purpose of the meeting was to review the current law and order situation in the district and to devise an effective strategy. A detailed discussion took place on recent incidents, and various suggestions were presented by the local committees for the establishment of lasting peace.

It was agreed to set up additional checkpoints at sensitive locations and to launch comprehensive operations against terrorists to further improve the security situation.

Local elders emphasized the need for immediate steps to address public issues. A schedule for monthly coordination meetings was also finalized to maintain effective and transparent communication between local committees and law enforcement agencies.

In his address, Commissioner Muhammad Ali Shah stated: “Peace and order are fundamental to regional development and public welfare. The involvement of local committees is yielding positive results, which is commendable.”

On this occasion, RPO Sajjad Khan issued a statement saying that restoring public trust through effective community policing is their top priority, and all available resources are being utilized to achieve this goal. He added, “We will ensure the complete eradication of the menace of terrorism from the Bannu region.”
