Professor Dr. Sardar Khan, a distinguished environmental scientist and academic leader, has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of the University of Shangla. His unparalleled contributions to academic excellence, research, and higher education, along with his visionary leadership, set him apart as an outstanding scholar.

Dr. Sardar Khan previously served as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Science and Technology, Kohat, where his leadership led to significant academic reforms, research advancements, and infrastructure improvements. His efforts earned the university national recognition in the field of education.

With over 170 research publications in environmental science, international collaborations, and successful supervision of MPhil and PhD students, he has established himself as an internationally recognized researcher and educator. His contributions have been honored with prestigious awards, including the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan in 2024, the Gold Medal by the Pakistan Academy of Sciences in 2019, and inclusion in Stanford University’s list of the world’s top 2% scientists.

His appointment marks the beginning of a new era for the University of Shangla, promising academic growth, research innovations, and institutional development.
