Suzuki Cultus gets significant price hike & safety upgrade

Pak Suzuki introduces enhanced safety features across all variants, effective 26 April 2025

Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has announced significant upgrades to the Suzuki Cultus lineup, accompanied by substantial price increases across all variants. The new features, aimed at improving safety, comfort, and reliability, officially took effect on 26 April 2025.

Key Upgrades:

The Cultus now includes:

The VXR MT variant receives additional enhancements:

  • Driver and passenger airbags

  • Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)

  • 60:40 split rear seats

Revised Prices:

The Cultus VXR sees the steepest increase, jumping by Rs. 372,000, from Rs. 3,858,000 to Rs. 4,230,000. The VXL and AGS variants have each increased by Rs. 72,000:

  • VXL: Rs. 4,244,000 → Rs. 4,316,000

  • AGS: Rs. 4,546,000 → Rs. 4,618,000

Market Impact:

The Suzuki Cultus has long been a favorite in Pakistan due to its affordability, fuel efficiency, and compact design, making it ideal for urban commuting. Despite the price hike, the car remains competitive with features like a K-Series engine, Auto Gear Shift (AGS), touchscreen infotainment, and dual airbags in higher variants.

Financing Options:

For buyers opting for installments, Meezan Bank offers a five-year plan for the VXL variant with a 30% down payment (Rs. 1,160,500) and monthly installments of Rs. 69,537, including a 15% residual value.

This price adjustment follows recent hikes in other Suzuki models, including the Swift and Alto, reflecting broader inflationary pressures in Pakistan’s auto sector. With rising costs, affordability concerns may dampen consumer demand, despite the Cultus’s reputation as a reliable and economical choice.
