Netflix has finally dropped the chilling teaser trailer for Wednesday Season 2, confirming the gothic teen drama’s return in two instalments—Part 1 premiering on August 6 and Part 2 on September 3. The series, led by Jenna Ortega as the iconic Wednesday Addams, promises darker supernatural twists, family secrets, and a fresh wave of murder and mayhem at Nevermore Academy.
The teaser opens with Wednesday at an airport security checkpoint, casually surrendering an arsenal of hidden weapons—only to be baffled when sunscreen is found in her bag. “I only work in the dark,” she quips to Thing (Victor Dorobantu). Returning to Nevermore, she reunites with her werewolf roommate Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) and gifts her a doll made of real human hair, declaring, “Wherever there’s murder and mayhem, you will always find an Addams.”
This season delves deeper into Wednesday’s psychic abilities, a new killing spree, and the shadowy past of the Addams family. Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) warns, “Every family has dark secrets that can have deadly consequences,” but Wednesday remains unfazed, retorting, “I do my best work in the dark.”
Joining the cast are high-profile newcomers, including Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, and Evie Templeton as series regulars, alongside guest stars Lady Gaga, Thandiwe Newton, and Christopher Lloyd in undisclosed roles. Returning favorites include Luis Guzmán as Gomez, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester, and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley, who begins his own eerie journey at Nevermore.
Tim Burton returns as director alongside Paco Cabezas and Angela Robinson, with showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar steering another macabre chapter. The teaser’s haunting rendition of “My Favorite Things” from The Sound of Music sets the tone for a season packed with combat, cryptic clues, and Wednesday’s signature deadpan wit.
The first season of Wednesday became a global phenomenon in 2022, catapulting Ortega to stardom. With its mix of gothic horror and dark comedy, Season 2 looks to up the ante—proving that for Wednesday Addams, danger is just another day at school.
