Intense protests by local residents over WAPDA’s poor performance in Peshawar

A local transformer has been malfunctioning since last night, and despite causing distress to those who are fasting, neither WAPDA nor the administration has provided any response

After overcoming a band of petty robbers, a new episode of looting and pillaging by WAPDA officials has emerged. Residents of Sardar Colony Budhni Pul have expressed deep anger towards the provincial government, political representatives, and WAPDA’s performance.

Local people claim that even during the holy month of Ramadan, WAPDA continues its practices of bribery, theft, and dereliction of duty. A local transformer has been malfunctioning since last night, and despite causing distress to those who are fasting, neither WAPDA nor the administration has provided any response.

An elderly resident stated, “I went to the WAPDA office to file a complaint while fasting, but no one was there. What are these people drawing official salaries for?”

A local political representative revealed that, despite repeated phone calls, no response has been received from WAPDA. Furthermore, it has come to light that WAPDA’s superintendent has dispatched various items from the malfunctioning transformer, yet no one has inquired about it.

Residents, many of whom are women and children, remarked, “These shameless people do not hesitate to earn illicit money even at the expense of their children, especially during Ramadan.”

The locals made it clear that if this situation persists, they will start strong protests against WAPDA and will not relent until a law is enacted against these robbers and the criminals are punished.
